The American Policyholder Association offers three levels of membership for Professionals.

Professional Members
Professional advocates for insurance consumer rights; including public adjusting companies, restoration contractors, professional property managers, and attorneys, can become a Professional Member of the APA upon application.
Professional Advocates have full APA membership benefits including access to the APA Member Portal, Forum, library and database. Like nonprofit members, if an APA Professional member is representing a victim of insurer fraud, they may request assistance, lobbying and intervention by the APA. APA members may also make confidential donations to the APA and earmark such donations for targeted lobbying efforts. The yearly donation of the APA Professional Member is $985 (Monthly payment option available). If the APA receives complaints from any policyholder or APA member about any violation of this fiduciary pledge, the APA reserves the right to expel any APA Professional Advocate from APA Membership.
Acceptance of an APA Professional Member is conditioned upon the professional signing the APA Fiduciary Pledge that they are free of conflicts of interest to work in the best interest of policyholders and any work taken by the professional will include an APA Fiduciary Pledge to each client that the Professional Advocate serves. Upon taking such pledge, and for as long as the Professional Member remains in good standing with the APA, the Professional Member may have use of the APA logo to signify the Professional’s Membership in the APA.
company Membership
Companies for insurance consumer rights; including public adjusting, restoration contractors, professional property management, and law firms, can join the APA as a company upon application.
Companies and their employees have full APA membership benefits including access to the APA Forum, library and database. Like nonprofit members, if an APA company member is representing a victim of insurer fraud, they may request assistance, lobbying and intervention by the APA. APA members may also make confidential donations to the APA and earmark such donations for targeted lobbying efforts. APA Company Members also have the following benefits:
- All employees positioned as representatives of “APA Member Co”
- Two company representatives to attend Annual Membership Summit
- Access to up-to-date, industry-specific resources and information
- Members only webinars and training for employees.
- Member Portal Login
- APA badging: web badging, company business cards, stationary, logo on shirts, company vehicles, etc.
The yearly donation of the APA Company Membership is $2,500. If the APA receives complaints from any policyholder or APA member about any violation of this fiduciary pledge, the APA reserves the right to expel any company from APA Membership.
Acceptance of an APA Company Membership is conditioned upon an individual representing the organization signing the APA Fiduciary Pledge that they are free of conflicts of interest to work in the best interest of policyholders and any work taken by the company will include an APA Fiduciary Pledge to each client that the company serves. Upon taking such pledge, and for as long as the company remains in good standing with the APA, the company may have use of the company logo to signify their membership in the APA.
APA Board Advisor
Upon application, the APA will accept a limited number of APA Board Advisors. Board Advisors have all of the rights and benefits of Professional Members but will also serve as a Board Advisor to the APA Board of Directors.
Board Advisors will receive invitations to attend all Board of Director meetings and functions and will help craft specific lobbying efforts and strategy of the APA. Those leaders awarded an Advisory Board seat have not only a larger financial commitment but will also help create long term policy to facilitate execution of the APA mission.
Board Advisor Membership is limited and acceptance as a Board Advisor may only be granted after a majority vote of the Board of Directors.
